This formula provides folate as Metafolin®, which is a naturally occurring form of folate that is universally metabolized. It is chemically identical to the predominant natural folate metabolite, 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (L-5-MTHF). Since it bypasses several enzymatic activation steps, it is directly absorbed by the body and provides all of the benefits of folic acid regardless of genetic or functional differences.
