Lycopene is a carotenoid that is red in color and is found abundantly in tomatoes, apricots, watermelon, pink grapefruit, and pink guava. Lycopene has been shown to have antioxidant properties and has been studied as a possible cancer preventative.
In another study involving 30 male subjects, supplementation with lycopene improved prostate health. In this study, the lycopene supplement was shown to support prostate health better than dietary tomato consumption.
